Master Mandarin Fast: A Simple, Effective Method Using Duolingo, Anki, and Essential Vocabulary

Are you ready to start learning Mandarin but feeling overwhelmed by where to begin? Don’t worry—I’ve got you covered! After experimenting with various methods, I’ve developed a straightforward and efficient approach that combines the power of Duolingo, Anki, and essential vocabulary to help you start speaking and understanding Mandarin quickly. Here’s how it works and why it’s effective: 1. Why Start with Duolingo? Duolingo is a fantastic tool for beginners. It’s free, easy to use, and provides a structured way to learn basic vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structures. The gamified approach keeps you motivated, and the bite-sized lessons make it easy to fit learning into your daily routine. While Duolingo alone won’t make you fluent, it’s an excellent starting point to build a foundation in Mandarin. 2. Learning Chinese / Mandarin with subtitles - day 8

After a long time, I (re)started today my study with Chinese subtitles on Anki. I did not have time to do it because I was absorbed with French and because of the movies2anki and the L-R method I found the LWT software.

So I made some changes to my goals. First, I'm going to cross the plateau level of my French and reach the C level (fluency level). It's not I'm quitting Chinese, but it seems to more reasonable to first get fluency in a language I almost dominate, and only after I can spend all my free time with another.

L-R method sounds to me as a great method and using it in combination with the LWT (Leaning with Texts) it is very powerful. I'm using it to improve my French, and so I'll do it with my Chinese.

But I'll keep my subtitles studies (with Anki), at first just trying to understand the meaning of the dialogues (not to fully grasp it). And the decomposition of the words will be done on LWT in an L-R method way.

If you don't know about the L-R Method, just take a look at L-R (beauty is in the ear of the beholder) faithfully presented by aYa.

About the LWT software (Learning with Texts), you can get the software and the instructions of how to install it here

These pieces of stuff have changed the way I learn languages and I'm sure it will make a powerful change of my learning of Chinese.
